Questions, answered

Can I put any plate on my car?

A registration can't make a vehicle look newer than it is. A D suffix plate from 1966 can go on a 1966 car or anything newer, but not on an older one. Dateless plates have no year code, so they can go on any vehicle. Plate Studio shows the cut-off for any number.

Can I run black and silver plates?

Black plates with silver characters are only legal on vehicles in the historic vehicle tax class. Any other car needs the standard white front and yellow rear plates.

I don't have a car to put it on yet. Can I still buy?

Yes. The number can be issued on a certificate in your name, which keeps your right to it until you're ready to assign it to a vehicle.

Do you accept crypto?

Yes. We accept Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC), both when you buy and when we buy from you. The price is agreed in pounds, and the amount, coin and wallet details are confirmed in writing before anything is sent.

Can I space letters differently or use a different font?

No. Plates must use the standard character font and spacing. Altering them to spell a word is an offence and can cause an MOT failure and a fine. We only supply plates made to the legal standard.

Is finance available?

Yes, finance is available on plates in the collection, subject to status. Choose Finance on the enquiry form or ask us and we'll explain the options.

Are there extra costs on top of the plate price?

The DVLA charges a fee to assign a number to a vehicle. We confirm every cost in writing before you pay, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay.
